FIFA President Gianni Infantino announced an investment package of up to $75 million to help rebuild football infrastructure in Gaza, including a national stadium, a FIFA academy and community pitches, unveiled during a Washington event tied to broader post-war relief and reconstruction discussions.
According to The Associated Press, FIFA pledged $50 million for a new stadium with a capacity of 20,000 to 25,000 spectators and $15 million for a FIFA academy. The plan also includes funding for 50 “arena mini pitches” and five full-sized fields, bringing the overall package to roughly $75 million.
Separately, Reuters reported that U.S. President Donald Trump said FIFA would help raise $75 million for Gaza soccer-related projects as part of a wider set of pledges announced at the same meeting.
AP noted that Gaza does not field a separate national team, as the Palestinian squad represents both Gaza and the West Bank and has been recognized by FIFA since 1998.
