The Canadian Food Inspection Agency has issued a food recall warning for Gummy Gainz brand Protein Candy because the products contain milk that is improperly declared on the label, creating a potential risk for people with a milk allergy or sensitivity. The recall was last updated on July 4, 2026, and applies to products distributed nationally in Canada and online.
According to the CFIA, the affected products include several Gummy Gainz Protein Candy flavours, including Fruit Salad, Blue Raspberry, Fuzzy Peach, Green Apple, Sour Watermelon and Sour Peach. The recall also covers multi-pack sizes and a 9.8 g sample pack of The Original Protein Candy, with all codes affected where milk is not declared on the label.
Consumers are being told to check whether they have the recalled products at home and not to consume them if they are allergic or sensitive to milk. The CFIA warned that consuming these products could cause a serious or life-threatening reaction for some individuals.
The agency also advised consumers not to serve, use, sell or distribute the recalled products. The affected candy should either be thrown out or returned to the place of purchase.
The recall was triggered by a consumer complaint. The CFIA said there has been one reported reaction associated with the consumption of these products, and the agency is conducting a food safety investigation that may lead to additional recalls if other products are found to be affected.
The recall is classified as a Class 1 food recall warning, the highest-risk category used when there is a reasonable probability that consuming the product could cause serious adverse health consequences. The recalling firm is listed as ProSweets Inc., and the CFIA said it is verifying that industry is removing the recalled products from the marketplace.
