Qatar says ongoing talks between Oman and Iran over the current regional situation have reached an advanced stage, describing the negotiations as being at a pivotal point.
The statement comes as regional diplomatic efforts continue to reduce tensions, with Oman playing a central role in negotiations with Tehran, particularly over arrangements involving the Strait of Hormuz and maritime navigation. Iran has previously said its talks with Muscat over the strait were approaching their final stages.
Qatar has also been working alongside Oman and Pakistan to facilitate indirect contacts and exchange proposals between the parties in an effort to prevent renewed escalation and create conditions for a broader political settlement. Doha reported progress in those mediation efforts earlier this month.
While an advanced stage does not yet mean a final agreement has been reached, the latest comments indicate continued diplomatic momentum around an issue with major implications for Gulf security, global shipping and energy markets.
