The Reuters reported that the White House is planning the first leaders meeting of President Donald Trump’s so called Gaza “Board of Peace” on February 19, citing an Axios report based on a U.S. official and diplomats from four countries on the board.
According to Reuters, the gathering is expected to be held at the U.S. Institute of Peace and would also serve as a fundraising conference for Gaza reconstruction, though planning remains at an early stage and could still change.
Reuters added that the White House and the U.S. Department of State did not respond to requests for comment, while Axios framed the meeting as an effort to accelerate implementation of the next phase of the ceasefire and mobilize reconstruction funding.
Israeli officials told Axios that Benjamin Netanyahu is expected to meet Trump at the White House on Feb. 18, one day before the proposed board meeting.
