Her Excellency Amal Yahya Almoallimi, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Canada, took part in diplomatic meetings in Ottawa focused on Saudi-Canadian relations, Canada’s engagement with the Gulf region, and the Kingdom’s economic transformation under Vision 2030.
Ambassador Almoallimi participated in a diplomatic luncheon hosted by the Women Heads of Diplomatic Mission in Ottawa, with Mona Fortier, Rob Oliphant, and MP Yasir Naqvi attending as guests of honour. The discussion addressed shared global priorities and ways to strengthen dialogue between Canadian officials and members of the diplomatic community in the capital.
The Saudi ambassador also joined a roundtable hosted by Canada’s Foreign Minister Mélanie Joly, where discussions focused on Canada’s role as a trusted partner in the Gulf region. The meeting also provided an opportunity to highlight Saudi Arabia’s economic transformation and the cooperation opportunities emerging under Vision 2030.
The meetings come at a time when Ottawa is looking to deepen its engagement with the Gulf, while Riyadh continues to present Vision 2030 as a central framework for economic modernization, investment, and international partnerships.
Taken together, the meetings reflect a practical diplomatic track linking political dialogue with economic opportunities between Saudi Arabia and Canada.
