Drivers in the Greater Toronto Area could see some relief at the pumps on Wednesday, March 25, as gas prices are expected to fall by 10 to 11 cents per litre after a recent stretch of sharp increases.
If the forecast holds, the price of regular gasoline in Toronto could fall to about $1.69 per litre, offering a short-term break for consumers facing higher fuel costs this month.
Gas prices have moved up quickly in recent days, driven by volatility in energy markets and broader pressure on oil prices, before new projections pointed to a possible drop beginning Wednesday.
Despite the expected decline, pump prices can still change quickly depending on market conditions.
