US security contractor UG Solutions said it is holding talks about a potential future role linked to aid distribution in Gaza, after the United Nations criticized deadly chaos around previous distribution points the firm helped secure, according to Reuters.

The North Carolina-based company said it has provided information and proposals to the US-led “Board of Peace,” a body set up by President Donald Trump as part of a plan aimed at ending the war and shaping post-war arrangements for humanitarian aid and reconstruction. A source with direct knowledge of the board’s planning confirmed discussions were under way with UG Solutions and other groups, though no decision has been finalized.

UG Solutions previously provided perimeter security for aid sites run by the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation, a US- and Israel-backed operation that was later shut down following a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas in October. The UN has said hundreds of Palestinians were killed while trying to reach aid in areas where Israeli forces were deployed, and criticized the distribution model as inherently dangerous and inconsistent with humanitarian principles.

The company said its armed contractors only secured the immediate perimeter of the sites and did not control actions by the Israeli military or militant groups. Palestinian civil society representatives, meanwhile, voiced opposition to any return of the firm to Gaza.
