Authorities and technical bodies in several Arab countries have issued warnings over a growing wave of cyber fraud attempts targeting users at the start of the new year, exploiting increased online activity and seasonal offers.
Officials said the scams involve text messages, emails, and phone calls impersonating banks, delivery companies, and well-known digital platforms, urging users to update personal information or make fake payments.
Reports indicate a rise in complaints over the past two days, with fraudsters relying on urgent language and deceptive tactics to pressure victims into responding quickly without verification.
Authorities urged users to remain cautious, avoid sharing personal or banking details, verify message sources, and report suspicious activity through official channels.
