Nestlé says a major shipment of KitKat bars was stolen while being transported from Italy to Poland, with the truck still missing after it failed to reach its destination. The company said the load had left a production site in central Italy and disappeared before arriving in Poland.

According to the company, the stolen cargo weighed about 12 tons and included 413,793 bars from a new KitKat range intended for distribution across Europe. Nestlé has not disclosed the precise location where the truck vanished, but said the case is being handled with authorities and supply-chain partners.

Nestlé also warned that the missing products could surface through unofficial sales channels. It said each bar carries a batch code that can help identify the stolen shipment if it appears on the market. The company linked the incident to a broader rise in cargo theft across Europe.

While the story has drawn attention because of the unusual nature of the stolen goods, the case also points to wider concerns over freight security and the vulnerability of fast-moving consumer products in transit. The truck and its cargo had not been recovered as of the latest company statement.
