Health Canada has recalled bear shaped magnets sold on SHEIN in Canada after determining that the small, powerful magnets do not meet the country’s safety requirements for this type of product under the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act. The recall notice was published on March 23, 2026.

The recall covers Gummy Bear Shaped magnets sold in sets of 10, 20, or 30 in various colours. Each magnet measures about 1.1 cm wide and 1.8 cm long, making the product especially concerning in homes with children.

Health Canada said the danger becomes especially serious when more than one magnet is swallowed within a short period of time. The magnets can attract each other while moving through the intestines, which can twist the bowels, create blockages, or tear intestinal walls. The agency warned that the outcome can be life threatening.

Consumers were told to stop using the product immediately and throw it out in household waste. SHEIN Canada said customers who confirm disposal through the company’s email notice will receive a full refund. Health Canada also reminded the public that recalled products cannot legally be resold, redistributed, or given away in Canada.

The official notice says 1,043 units were sold in Canada from March 2024 to February 2026. As of March 16, 2026, no incidents or injuries had been reported in Canada.
