6,758 Home Saunas and Infrared Kits Recalled in Canada Over Fire Hazard

Health Canada has announced the recall of 6,758 home saunas and infrared kits sold in Canada after a defect was identified that could cause the infrared panels to overheat, posing fire and burn hazards. Consumers are being urged to stop using the affected products immediately.

The recall covers products sold under several brands, including Finnleo, Tylo, Polar, Radiant Health and Helo, as well as related Sauna360, Saunatec, Tylohelo and Amerec products. Affected models include several B, IG, S and IS series units, along with Kiruna, Kiruna Hybrid, Pause, Sentinel, Sentinel Hybrid and Elite models.

According to Health Canada, the infrared panels can experience an electrical short circuit and overheat, creating a potential fire and burn hazard. As of September 10, the company had received five incident reports in Canada and 67 reports in the United States and other countries, with no injuries reported.

Consumers who own an affected unit should stop using it immediately and contact Sauna360 to arrange a free in-home repair by an authorized technician. The recall is being conducted in coordination with Health Canada and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.

A total of 6,758 affected units were sold in Canada, compared with 41,580 units in the United States. The recalled products were sold in Canada between January 2013 and August 2026.
