Tim Hortons and Canadian Tire have officially launched their linked loyalty partnership in Canada, allowing members who connect their Tims Rewards and Triangle Rewards accounts to earn Canadian Tire Money in addition to their regular Tims Rewards points on eligible purchases at participating Tim Hortons restaurants. The partnership officially launched on September 2, 2026.

Once the two accounts are linked, members who scan for Tims Rewards or order through the Tim Hortons app can earn 2% in Canadian Tire Money on eligible pre tax Tim Hortons purchases while continuing to earn their usual Tims Rewards points.

The return can rise to about 4% when members scan for Tims Rewards and pay with a Triangle credit card, which provides an additional 2% in Canadian Tire Money on the total post tax purchase. Customers who use a Triangle credit card through Scan & Pay in the Tims app can earn another 1% on eligible pre tax purchases, bringing the potential return to as much as 5% in Canadian Tire Money, subject to program terms.

Customers must be registered members of both Tims Rewards and Triangle Rewards and link their accounts before participating. In the Tims app, users can open their account, select "Partnerships" and follow the steps to connect their Triangle account. Accounts can also be linked through the partnership website. Once linking is confirmed, Canadian Tire Money is automatically earned on qualifying Tims transactions.

The two loyalty programs are not being merged. Tims Rewards points remain redeemable at participating Tim Hortons restaurants, while Canadian Tire Money can be redeemed at participating Canadian Tire banners, including Canadian Tire, SportChek, Mark's, Party City and Atmosphere. Tims Rewards points cannot be converted into Canadian Tire Money, or vice versa.

Not every purchase or Tim Hortons location qualifies. Triangle says exclusions include catering orders, Smile Cookies, certain bottled beverages, specialty items and merchandise. Some Tim Hortons locations in airports, hospitals and universities may also be excluded from the partnership.

Canadian Tire says Triangle Rewards has more than 12 million members, while Tims Rewards has almost eight million members, giving the partnership access to two of Canada's largest loyalty program audiences.
