Canada wrapped up the Short Track World Championships with three medals, reinforcing the country’s status as one of the sport’s strongest contenders. The headline result for Team Canada was Steven Dubois successfully defending his world title in the men’s 500m.
According to Team Canada’s official website, Dubois won the final in 40.153 seconds, finishing ahead of Dutch skater Jens van ’t Wout, while Türkiye’s Furkan Akar took bronze. The report noted that Dubois entered the final from the inside lane after advancing confidently through both the quarterfinal and semifinal rounds.
The result underlines Canada’s continued strength in short track speed skating, especially in the explosive sprint events that demand precision, timing, and tactical control. Finishing the championships with three medals also gives the Canadian team valuable momentum heading into future international competition.
