Canada is continuing its preparations to co-host the FIFA World Cup 2026 alongside the United States and Mexico, as organizational and infrastructure plans move forward ahead of the global tournament.
According to official and media reports, preparations include stadium upgrades, transportation improvements, and enhanced coordination on security and logistics in host cities, in line with FIFA’s hosting standards.
The 2026 edition will be the largest World Cup in history, featuring 48 national teams, placing significant organizational demands on the host countries. Canadian authorities say the tournament presents an opportunity to strengthen the country’s international sporting profile and generate long-term economic and tourism benefits.
Officials have emphasized that preparations remain on schedule, with coordination ongoing between federal, provincial, and municipal authorities to ensure successful delivery of the event.
