The Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Ottawa is inviting members of the Egyptian community in Canada to take part in a survey launched by Egypt’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptians Abroad to evaluate and further develop the presidential “Etkallem Arabi” initiative. According to the Embassy’s announcement, responses will be accepted until September 24, 2026.

The survey asks families to evaluate the initiative’s existing content, including the clarity of written and spoken material, design, variety of topics and suitability for different age groups. Participants can also identify the types of content they believe are most useful for their children, including short videos, stories, games, Arabic-language learning, history, traditions, Egyptian personalities and tourism.

The consultation also looks beyond social media. Families are being asked which digital alternatives could better reach young Egyptians abroad, with options including an e-learning platform, a mobile application, live virtual classes, an educational YouTube channel, a children’s podcast and an educational gaming platform.

For Egyptian families in Canada, the survey provides an opportunity to share their experience of maintaining Arabic among children growing up abroad and to identify the tools that could make Egyptian language, history and culture more engaging for younger generations. The ministry says the responses will help shape programs and activities that better reflect the needs of Egyptian communities abroad.
