Files show FBI found no evidence Epstein ran a trafficking ring for powerful men

An Associated Press review of internal U.S. Justice Department records says the FBI amassed extensive evidence that Jeffrey Epstein sexually abused underage girls, but found little to support the claim that he ran a sex-trafficking ring supplying powerful men.
The records include prosecutor memos, case summaries and FBI notes. A 2025 memo cited in the files says photos and videos seized from Epstein’s properties did not depict abuse or implicate anyone else. A separate internal memo from 2019 said a review of financial records found no link to criminal activity tied to influential figures.
In a July email summarizing the investigation, agents wrote that “four or five” accusers alleged abuse by other men or women, but investigators said there was not enough evidence for federal charges and the matters were referred to local law enforcement.
The document release is part of the Justice Department’s broader disclosure under the Epstein Files Transparency Act, with media organizations continuing to examine millions of pages that were previously confidential.
