Erdogan: Türkiye is set to become a central pole in the reshaped global order

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said Türkiye is moving toward becoming one of the central poles in a world order that is being reshaped, adding that the country is entering a new phase in which it expects to reap the results of years of effort.

 

He made the remarks on Thursday in Ankara during the 7th Extraordinary General Assembly of the Turkish Entrepreneurial Businesspeople Confederation.

 

Erdogan also highlighted surging demand for Türkiye’s defense industry, saying aircraft, helicopters, drones, naval platforms and other defense products are struggling to keep up with rising orders.

 

He further pointed to Türkiye’s growing footprint in the sector, noting that five Turkish firms were included in Defense News’ annual Top 100 defense companies list for 2025.

 

Recent sector figures cited in media and industry reporting show Türkiye’s defense and aerospace exports reached $7.2 billion in 2024, nearly 30% higher than 2023’s $5.5 billion, exceeding the official target of $6.5 billion. The data indicates exports surpassed $7 billion for the first time, lifting the sector’s share to about 2.7% of total exports, with a stated goal of reaching 5% in the period ahead.
