EU lists Iran’s IRGC as a terrorist organisation and approves new sanctions

EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas said, marking a major policy shift toward Tehran.
Alongside the listing, the EU approved a new sanctions package targeting 15 individuals and six entities over what it described as serious human-rights abuses and repression-related cyber and information operations.
Reuters also reported the EU sanctioned specific Iranian officials, including Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni, Prosecutor General Mohammad Movahedi Azad, and presiding judge Iman Afshari, citing a Council of the EU statement.
