Canada beat Switzerland 5-1 in Group A play on Friday as Connor McDavid scored his first Olympic goal and added two assists, with goals also coming from Thomas Harley, Macklin Celebrini, Sidney Crosby and Nathan MacKinnon, Reuters reported.
The game ended with Switzerland’s Kevin Fiala stretchered off after an awkward collision near the boards with Tom Wilson, and Switzerland later said the lower-leg injury would end his Olympic tournament; a separate Reuters report said he underwent surgery.
