After “Labubu”… Mirumi Tops Fashion Trends in 2026

If you thought the global fascination with miniature dolls ended with “Labubu,” 2026 is introducing a new trend that goes beyond static accessories. “Mirumi,” a small emotional companion robot, has emerged as a unique blend of fashion and interactive technology.

Made of soft fur, Mirumi is designed to do more than decorate a handbag. It reacts to its surroundings with noticeable emotional intelligence, turning its head toward passersby, gazing curiously at people nearby, or looking away shyly when someone approaches suddenly, mimicking the behavior of children or pets.

Developed by a Japanese technology company, Mirumi takes its name from a Japanese verb meaning “to look,” reflecting its core concept of visual and motion-based interaction. The robot first caught public attention at a major global technology exhibition before quickly gaining popularity across social media platforms.

Unlike task-oriented robots, Mirumi serves a single purpose: spreading joy. Its creators aim to break the monotony of daily life in crowded spaces such as airports and public transport, offering users a small, interactive companion that responds to touch and movement.

Mirumi is available in three colors—pink, gray, and ivory—with prices starting at around $122. Global shipping is expected to begin in spring 2026, according to the company.
