Mohamed Salah has finished ahead of Real Madrid's Vinícius Júnior and Barcelona's Raphinha in a newly published ranking of football's most productive attacking players over the past five years.
The Egyptian forward recorded 249 direct goal contributions — 155 goals and 94 assists — across 291 appearances for club and country, placing him fourth on a list led by France international Kylian Mbappé.
The figures were released on Thursday, October 22, by football statistics account PopFoot on X. They measure combined goals and assists rather than scoring alone.
Salah's creative output makes the difference
Salah's fourth-place finish puts him ahead of several prominent European attackers, including Robert Lewandowski, Vinícius Júnior and Raphinha.
His 249 goal contributions exceed Vinícius's total of 210 by 39, while Raphinha trails the Egyptian by 70 with 179.
Across the period assessed, Salah averaged approximately 0.86 goals or assists per appearance.
His passing contribution is particularly notable.
With 94 assists, Salah registered more assists than Mbappé, who recorded 82, despite the French forward finishing considerably higher in overall attacking production.
The numbers highlight Salah's dual contribution as a goalscorer and creator, although they do not account for every aspect of a player's performance.
Mbappé maintains a substantial lead
Mbappé claimed first place with 354 goal contributions from 311 matches, including 272 goals and 82 assists.
That represents an average of approximately 1.14 direct goal involvements per appearance and puts him 105 contributions ahead of Salah.
England captain Harry Kane finished second with 330 contributions, consisting of 268 goals and 62 assists across 321 matches.
Manchester City striker Erling Haaland took third place with 305 contributions, including 261 goals and 44 assists in 285 appearances.
Lewandowski followed Salah in fifth with 233 contributions, while Vinícius occupied sixth place with 210.
Raphinha among the top ten
Raphinha ranked ninth after registering 112 goals and 67 assists across 266 matches, giving him 179 combined contributions.
His average of approximately 0.67 contributions per match was narrowly higher than Vinícius's 0.66, but both remained below Salah's 0.86.
Manchester United's Bruno Fernandes ranked seventh with 199 contributions, followed by Inter Milan's Lautaro Martínez on 196.
Canadian international Jonathan David completed the top ten with 177 contributions.
The rankings cover a five-year period and include club and international performances. They are not an all-time goalscoring classification or an official award issued by football's governing bodies.
