Morocco booked their place in the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2025 semi-finals after a 2-0 victory over Cameroon on Friday in the quarter-finals at Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat.
Brahim Diaz put Morocco ahead in the 26th minute, finishing from close range after Achraf Hakimi delivered a corner that was redirected by Ayoub El Kaabi. The Real Madrid forward extended his scoring streak to five straight matches in the tournament.
Ismael Saibari made it 2-0 in the second half, capitalizing on a set-piece situation to end Cameroon’s hopes of a comeback. Cameroon struggled to create real danger in front of goal throughout the match, according to Reuters.
Morocco will face the winner of Algeria vs Nigeria in the semi-finals, with the game set to be played in Rabat. Reuters also reported Diaz was substituted late with a thigh issue, which could be a concern ahead of the next round.
