Al Jazeera Arabic reported that a second group of Palestinians reached the Egyptian side of Rafah and awaited permission to enter Gaza. Separately, Gaza health authorities said 16 patients accompanied by 40 relatives headed to the crossing to seek treatment abroad.
The Palestinian Red Crescent said Israeli authorities rejected the departure of 29 patients and 50 companions from a list of 45 patients and 90 companions expected to travel for medical care. Gaza’s interior ministry said eight patients and companions left on the first day of the limited reopening, while 12 Palestinians returned to Gaza.
The World Health Organization said the first medical evacuation through Rafah since early 2025 involved five patients and seven companions travelling into Egypt, adding that more than 18,500 patients still require evacuation for specialised care not available in Gaza.
On the ground, Nasser Medical Complex reported two deaths in an Israeli strike on tents sheltering displaced people south of Khan Younis. Medical sources also reported additional fatalities in separate incidents.
