Saudi Arabia’s health sector took part in the 51st International Exhibition of Inventions Geneva, held at Palexpo from March 11 to 15, 2026, with 20 health innovations, according to the Saudi Press Agency. The exhibition is one of the world’s leading innovation platforms and brought together more than 1,000 inventions from around 40 countries and regions this year.

In the exhibition’s official 2026 special awards list, the organizer recorded the Ministry of Health, Saudi Arabia, as a winner of the Prize of the Taipei International Exhibition for SAARIA: automated retinal image analysis. That confirms the project received formal international recognition at this year’s event.

The result gives Saudi Arabia’s Geneva participation a measurable outcome, not just a showcase presence. It also highlights SAARIA within the growing field of health innovation tied to automated retinal image analysis and AI-supported early clinical assessment.

It is also worth noting that Prof. Selwa Al-Hazzaa was among those honored during the medal presentation linked to the project, according to the images provided. The attached photographed documents also show her name as part of the SAARIA project team, alongside a special recognition document connected to the award.
