The City of Toronto, in partnership with Toronto Tempo, has announced a new year-round training facility and community recreation hub at Exhibition Place, combining a major sports project with public access to the site. The city said the development will be located at 701 Fleet St. near the Princes’ Gates and will include two full size indoor basketball courts along with additional outdoor and public use amenities.

According to the official announcement, the City would secure at least 2,200 hours of annual community access through lease terms that still require City Council approval. Toronto said the space is expected to support registered and drop in programming, permit allotments and seasonal CampTO activities developed in collaboration with the local councillor.

The city is framing the project as more than a team facility, saying it will also serve community recreation needs through a modern sports complex. Construction is expected to begin in fall 2026, with completion anticipated in 2028 pending final approvals.
