U.S. President Donald Trump said Washington is seeking what he called a “meaningful” nuclear deal with Iran and suggested the outlook would become clear within roughly 10 days, warning that failure to reach an agreement could bring “bad consequences.” The remarks were delivered in Washington as regional tensions remain elevated.
Trump described the talks as “good,” but signaled the United States would not accept a symbolic outcome, and he hinted at potential escalation if diplomacy stalls, without detailing what steps could follow.
The comments come alongside heightened geopolitical pressure. Reuters also reported Russia urging restraint and warning of an “unprecedented” rise in tensions around Iran, as U.S. military movements in the region add to market anxiety.
According to Reuters, the United States is pressing for Iran to end uranium enrichment as part of its position, while Iran maintains its nuclear program is peaceful and says it will not negotiate beyond the nuclear file.
