On Monday, March 2, 2026, the U.S. Department of State urged American citizens to immediately depart more than a dozen locations across the Middle East using any available commercial transportation, citing serious safety risks amid the widening regional escalation.

Reuters reported the advisory applies to: Bahrain, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Israel, the West Bank and Gaza, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, the United Arab Emirates, and Yemen.

The report also said the State Department activated an inter-agency emergency task force, while the U.S. Embassy in Amman announced personnel had left the site “due to a threat.”

The move follows a wider “worldwide caution” notice warning Americans, especially in the Middle East, to monitor embassy alerts and expect possible travel disruptions linked to periodic airspace closures.
