FIFA said it received more than 500 million ticket requests during the Random Selection Draw ticket sales phase for the 2026 World Cup, calling it an unprecedented level of demand for the tournament co hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico.
FIFA said the application window ran for 33 days, from Dec. 11, 2025 to Jan. 13, 2026, averaging about 15 million requests per day. The organization added that requests were validated using unique credit card data as part of its application requirements.
FIFA said applications came from fans living across all 211 FIFA member associations, with the host countries among the top sources of demand, alongside Germany, England, Brazil, Spain, Portugal, Argentina and Colombia.
FIFA stressed that requests do not guarantee tickets. It will verify applications and household limits, then allocate tickets through a random selection process where demand exceeds supply. Applicants will be notified by email no earlier than Feb. 5.
