The final shape of the 2026 FIFA World Cup is now set after the last playoff place was decided, completing the 48-team field and confirming all 12 groups in the first expanded edition of the tournament. Iraq sealed the final berth with a 2-1 win over Bolivia, finalizing the competition that will be hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico from June 11 to July 19, 2026.

 

Alongside Iraq, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Sweden, Turkey, Czech Republic and DR Congo also secured late places through playoff and final qualifying routes, bringing the full tournament lineup into place months before kickoff.

 

The final groups are as follows:


Group A: Mexico, South Africa, South Korea, Czech Republic


Group B: Canada, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Qatar, Switzerland


Group C: Brazil, Morocco, Haiti, Scotland


Group D: United States, Paraguay, Australia, Turkey

For Arab teams, the final lineup gives Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Algeria, Jordan and Qatar a broad range of challenges across the group stage, setting up strong early interest in qualification scenarios and possible surprise runs in the biggest World Cup ever staged.
