World Cup 2026 Price Shock.. Final Tickets Listed at Nearly $2.3 Million Each

A fresh wave of controversy has hit the 2026 World Cup after four tickets for the final appeared on FIFA’s official resale platform at nearly $2.3 million each, a staggering figure that highlights the intensity of demand and speculation ahead of the tournament.

According to the listing, each ticket was priced at $2,299,998.85 for seats located behind the goal in the lower deck. Other offers on the platform were also sharply elevated, including seats priced above $207,000 and upper deck listings above $138,000, while some of the lower resale offers started at around $10,923.85.

The controversy is amplified by FIFA’s use of dynamic pricing for the 2026 tournament, the first time the governing body has applied that model at a World Cup, while also allowing resales through its official marketplace with a 15% fee charged to both seller and buyer. Official final ticket prices have already drawn criticism, and the resale market is now pushing the debate even further.

The issue comes as FIFA says more than five million tickets have already been sold for the expanded tournament, which will be hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico with 48 teams and 104 matches. That helps explain the enormous pressure on premium fixtures, especially the final, but the current resale figures also revive a broader question: how accessible is the world’s biggest football event still meant to be for ordinary fans?
