Alberta Premier Danielle Smith is heading to the Canada Investment Summit in Toronto with a list of 34 proposed projects to pitch to domestic and international investors. The two-day summit, taking place on September 14 and 15, 2026, will bring together major investors, government leaders and Canadian business executives.

The gathering is Canada’s first national investment summit of its kind and is designed to connect major projects with long-term capital. Prime Minister Mark Carney will host the event as provinces and Canadian companies seek investment for projects that can expand economic activity and strengthen the country’s competitiveness.

The summit forms part of Ottawa’s broader plan to catalyze $1 trillion in investment in Canada over five years. It is being organized by the federal government in partnership with CPP Investments and PSP Investments, bringing some of the world’s largest investors to Toronto for direct discussions on Canadian opportunities.
