Mississauga is set to host the fourth edition of the Arabic Canadian Book Fair on April 25 and 26, 2026, as the event returns during Arab Heritage Month with a broad cultural program built around literature, the arts and community dialogue. The City of Mississauga’s official event page says the fair will run from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. over two days at the Small Arms Inspection Building.

This year’s edition is being framed as more than a book market. Organisers say the fair will bring together books, panel discussions, poetry readings, traditional music, visual arts and creative workshops for children and adults. More than 50 publishing houses from 14 Arab countries and three non-Arab countries are expected to take part, alongside local publishers, arts groups, cultural organisations and independent authors. More than 10,000 books will be available in Arabic, English, French, Tamazight and Kurdish.

On its official platforms, the fair has named Tunisia and Oman as the guests of honour for the fourth edition, with Tunisian poet Aboul-Qacem Echebbi selected as its featured literary figure under the slogan “Our Culture, Our Bridge.” The announced guest list also includes Emirati poet and novelist Ali AlShaali and Algerian singer and poet Mehdi Felfoul.

The official 2026 program page shows the Mississauga stop running from April 24 to 26, suggesting the public fair will be preceded by an opening program. According to the organisers’ circulated schedule, Friday evening, April 24, will feature an opening address, poetry readings, an art auction and musical performances ahead of the two main public days, underscoring the fair’s wider goal of turning books into a cultural meeting point for Arab communities and the broader Canadian public.
