Canada issued 3,000 invitations to apply for permanent residence in its latest Express Entry draw, which was limited to candidates eligible under the Canadian Experience Class. The minimum Comprehensive Ranking System score was 516.
The round was held on August 5, 2026, and selected the highest-ranking eligible Canadian Experience Class candidates in the Express Entry pool. Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada ranks profiles using factors including work experience, language ability, education and age.
The draw does not represent a general opening of immigration or an invitation to everyone currently living in Canada. The Canadian Experience Class is intended for skilled workers with eligible Canadian work experience and generally requires at least one year of qualifying work in Canada during the three years before applying.
According to the details of round 432, the draw took place at 10:41 a.m. UTC. A tie-breaking rule applied to candidates with 516 points who had submitted their profiles before July 3, 2026, at 9:35 p.m. UTC. When candidates have the same cut-off score, the earlier profile receives priority.
An invitation does not grant permanent residence automatically. It allows the recipient to submit a complete application, after which immigration officials review eligibility, work experience, documents and other requirements. IRCC says an invitation remains valid for only 60 days.
In practical terms, eligible Canadian Experience Class candidates with scores above 516 were included, while candidates at the cut-off were subject to the tie-breaking rule. Those who were not invited remain in the Express Entry pool while their profiles are valid, but selection in a future round is not guaranteed.
