Canadian authorities have recalled the WJ-SC05 dual-function smoke and carbon monoxide alarm after finding that it does not carry a recognized Canadian certification mark, raising concerns about whether it would function properly in the presence of smoke inside a home.

The recall points to a direct consumer safety risk, as a faulty alarm could fail to warn residents in the event of a fire, increasing the danger of serious harm inside the home.

Officials said 321 units were sold in Canada between October 2025 and March 2026. Consumers have been urged to stop using the product immediately and replace it with an alarm that carries a recognized Canadian certification mark.

Authorities also reminded the public that recalled products must not be resold or given away in Canada, while stressing the importance of using certified and reliable alarms to reduce the risk of fire and carbon monoxide incidents.
