Canada recalls more than 90,000 Schwarzkopf hair mousse cans over pressure hazard

Canadian health authorities have recalled more than 90,000 cans of Schwarzkopf Professional Osis Grip styling mousse after identifying a problem with the pressurized packaging that could cause the product to leak, build up pressure and potentially rupture, posing a risk of injury or property damage.
The recall affects Osis Grip Professional Mousse in 200 mL cans. According to the manufacturer, 90,089 affected units were sold in Canada between November 2023 and June 2026, making it a significant recall for a widely distributed personal care product.
Health Canada said the issue is linked to the product’s pressurized container. The contents may leak while under pressure, and the resulting pressure could cause the can to rupture unexpectedly. As of September 18, the company had received one report of an incident in Canada, with no injuries reported.
Consumers who have the recalled product are being advised to stop using it immediately and return it to the place of purchase for a refund, rather than continuing to use the can or attempting to empty it.
The recall does not apply to all Schwarzkopf products. It covers specific lots of Osis Grip Mousse 200 mL, and consumers are advised to compare the lot number printed on their can with the list published in Health Canada’s official recall notice.
The recalled product was distributed by Henkel Consumer Brands Canada Corporation and manufactured in Hungary. Health Canada published the recall notice on September 21 under the cosmetics and personal care products category.
