Dubai contains fire on Kuwaiti oil tanker with no injuries or spill

Dubai authorities said they had contained a fire aboard the Kuwaiti oil tanker Al Salmi after the vessel was hit near Dubai port anchorage, confirming that all 24 crew members were safe and that no injuries had been reported. Reuters said the tanker’s hull was damaged, while maritime firefighting teams brought the blaze under control.

The incident adds to growing concern over Gulf shipping and energy security at a time when oil markets remain highly sensitive to any disruption affecting tanker routes or crude flows in the region. Reuters reported that the vessel had been carrying about 2 million barrels of oil from Kuwait and Saudi Arabia.
