Egy Ottawa Events organized a warm family gathering and barbecue celebration to mark Eid Al-Adha, bringing together children, parents, and friends in a joyful outdoor atmosphere that reflected the spirit of the holiday and the closeness of the Egyptian community in Ottawa.
Egy Ottawa Events is a community group founded by Mona Qoura and Eng. Ahmed Zayed, with the aim of strengthening social connections among members of the Egyptian and Arab communities in Ottawa and creating welcoming spaces for families to come together during special occasions.
This year’s Eid Al-Adha gathering was coordinated through the efforts of the group’s team, including Rehab Alsayad, Dr. Mohamed Elabd, Mona Qoura, and Eng. Ahmed Zayed. The team helped organize a simple and joyful family day centered around food, barbecue, Eid greetings, and community connection.
The event brought together many families in a relaxed and friendly setting. Children enjoyed playing in the open space, while adults exchanged conversations, laughter, memories, and Eid wishes, recreating the feeling of extended family gatherings far from home.
The gathering was more than a social occasion. It offered a meaningful space for connection, support, and belonging, especially for immigrant families who often carry both joy and longing during holidays.
In the heart of Ottawa, Eid Al-Adha was celebrated with authentic Egyptian warmth, bringing generations together around one table, one joyful spirit, and a shared sense of community.
