Health Canada Expands Recall of Breez Bedroom Device Over Fire Hazard

Health Canada has expanded its recall of the Breez 2 in 1 Smart Bedroom Fan and White Noise Machine by adding new serial numbers to the original notice, telling consumers to stop using the device immediately and request a replacement fan from the company. The expanded notice was updated on April 21, 2026, after the original recall was first published on April 9.
The affected product is a bedroom device that combines a fan with a white noise machine. In the expanded recall, Health Canada says the affected units are white with a beige stand and have a serial number on the underside of the wooden base beginning with KTCD, BZ10, or BZ02. The agency says the power connector inside the fan can corrode, causing overheating and creating a fire hazard.
According to the official notice, 186 affected units were sold in Canada and 11,900 in the United States between June 2023 and December 2025. As of April 17, 2026, no incidents or injuries had been reported in Canada. In the United States, the company had received six reports of fans overheating and smoking, including one report of fire, with no reported injuries or property damage.
The guidance to consumers is direct: stop using the product right away and do not sell it, redistribute it, or give it away. Health Canada says owners of the recalled device should go to the SNOOZ website to register for a replacement fan, while reminding consumers that recalled products cannot legally be redistributed in Canada.
This recall stands out because the product is designed for bedrooms, a setting where consumers expect quiet comfort and safety. With new serial numbers now added, anyone who bought the device over the past two years should check the serial number immediately rather than assume their unit is unaffected. That is an editorial inference based on the product’s intended use and the expanded scope of the recall.
