Four recalls in Canada involve frozen dessert, children’s book, speakers and lobster meat

Canadian federal authorities have issued several recent recall notices involving a nationally distributed frozen dessert, a children’s book, portable speakers and frozen lobster meat, with risks ranging from foreign materials and choking hazards to fire and bacterial contamination.

One of the broadest recalls affects So Delicious Dairy Free Salted Caramel Non-Dairy Frozen Dessert, Cashew Base, sold in 500 mL containers across Canada. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency said the product may contain pieces resembling plastic and gravel. The affected product carries UPC 7 44473 27613 4.

In a separate recall affecting families with young children, Health Canada has recalled the Groovy Baby “I Spy a Fly!” board book by Make Believe Ideas. The plastic wings attached to the fly on the final page may detach when pulled, creating a choking hazard.

About 1,247 copies were sold in Canada between March 2025 and July 2026. No incidents or injuries had been reported in Canada as of September 9, according to the recall notice. Consumers are advised to stop using the affected book and follow the company’s refund instructions.

Health Canada has also recalled Cambridge Audio Yoyo (M) portable Bluetooth speakers because their lithium-ion batteries may overheat, posing a fire hazard. A total of 309 units were sold in Canada between 2016 and 2022.

Consumers are being told to stop using and charging the speakers immediately, keep them switched off and unplugged, and follow Cambridge Audio’s instructions for refunds and safe disposal. No injuries had been reported in Canada at the time of the notice.

The fourth recall is regional rather than nationwide. Frozen cooked lobster meat sold under the R.J. King Fisheries Ltd. and Moncton Fish Market brands has been recalled because of contamination with Staphylococcus aureus. Distribution identified in the federal notice is limited to New Brunswick.

The recall covers selected packages of cooked lobster meat, including frozen claw and knuckle meat, with specified production or freezing dates in May 2026. Consumers and retailers are advised not to use, sell, serve or distribute the affected products.
