The Restraint of Hesitation
He runs toward the crumbling cliff,
falling into the depths of illusion.
A past with no soul left within it,
covered by the ashes of destruction.
Bursts of the tyrant’s injustice
have scattered the dream of days.
He became like a bare tree,
dried by the weight of many wounds.
The sun of justice withdrew in shame,
and the strength of footsteps was shattered.
The cries of the bereaved were heard,
and the voice of darkness rose higher.
The pregnant earth was shaken,
and despair appeared in understanding.
Portraits of sorrow lined up,
bleeding through the years.
Can my words speak of them,
or is the scratching of pens enough?
The oppressor spread with pride,
boasting that he scattered nations apart.
Their courage strayed away from them,
so they became a bow without an archer.
They remained drunk in their heedlessness,
as if ruled by the sleep of the unaware.
I will not accept this. I will not sleep within it.
I will break the restraint of hesitation.
I will offer my soul in honor,
to restore the beauty of days.
And with crimson color, I will draw
the lights of a spring of melodies.
I will raise her noble stature high,
and remain with the march of courage.
And my Lord will crush her oppressor,
so he may return burdened with the fire of restraint.
A fierce resolve has settled within me,
and I have risen to the summit of banners.
