TIFF 2026 Selects Seven Red Sea Film Foundation-Supported Films

Seven films supported through the Red Sea Film Foundation’s ecosystem have been selected for the Centrepiece programme at the 51st Toronto International Film Festival, taking place from September 10 to 20, 2026. This year’s Centrepiece lineup features 54 titles from filmmakers representing 50 countries.

The films received support through the Red Sea Fund and Red Sea Souk. A Girl Unknown, directed by Zou Jing, was supported by the Red Sea Souk, while Marie-Clémentine Dusabejambo’s Ben'Imana received support from both the Red Sea Fund and Red Sea Souk. The other five films were supported by the Red Sea Fund.

The selection also includes Muayad Alayan’s Palestinian film Conversation With The Sea, Kamila Andini’s Four Seasons in Java, Mahamat-Saleh Haroun’s Soumsoum, The Night of the Stars, The Violinist by Ervin Han and Raul Garcia, and Anthony Chen’s We Are All Strangers.

Conversation With The Sea will have its North American premiere at TIFF and is a Palestinian production in Arabic, Hebrew and English. Four Seasons in Java will make its world premiere in Toronto and is an international co-production involving Indonesia, France, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Saudi Arabia and Singapore.

A Girl Unknown will also have its North American premiere in Centrepiece, while Anthony Chen’s We Are All Strangers joins the programme with its North American premiere.

The seven selections continue the Red Sea Film Foundation’s presence at major international festivals, following previous TIFF editions that also featured films supported through its funding and industry programmes.
