Egypt’s 2026 Eid al Adha movie season, astronomically expected to begin on Wednesday, May 27, is shaping up as an unusually crowded box office window. Recent entertainment reports say the lineup could reach 10 films, with some titles firmly in the race and others still shifting on release calendars, in a season that effectively rolls into the start of summer.
The circulating lineup currently includes Shamshon w Delila, Assad, Adaaf Khalqah, Khalli Balak Min Nafsak, 7 Dogs, Big Ramy, Ebn Meen Fehom, Ezma, Al Crash, and Saqr w Kanaria. Recent coverage has also separately confirmed Eid season plans for titles such as Shamshon w Delila, Ezma, and Khalli Balak Min Nafsak.
Still, the map is not final. Reports published within the last two days said Saqr w Kanaria may move to July instead of Eid, while other reports suggested Ebn Meen Fehom could open after the holiday, which means the widely repeated number of 10 may shrink by the time the actual holiday frame begins.
Even with that uncertainty, the direction of the market is clear: a heavier action push led by 7 Dogs and Assad, high profile returns by stars such as Ahmed Helmy and Mohamed Ramadan, and a broader mix of comedy and social films. Another notable angle is Ahmed Dawood being linked to two titles in the same overall race, while Ahmed Al Awady returns to cinemas with Shamshon w Delila.
