Eligible families across Canada are scheduled to receive their next Canada Child Benefit (CCB) payment on Thursday, August 20, 2026, according to the Canada Revenue Agency's official payment calendar. The CCB is a tax-free monthly benefit designed to help eligible families with the cost of raising children.
The August payment falls within the new July 2026 to June 2027 benefit year, with amounts calculated using families' 2025 tax information. Eligible households can receive up to $8,157 annually for each child under six, or $679.75 per month, and up to $6,883 annually for each child aged six to 17, or $573.58 per month.
Not every family receives the maximum amount. Payments vary depending on factors including the number and ages of children and adjusted family net income. The new maximum amounts took effect in July following the program's annual indexation.
Recipients can check their payment amount and date through their CRA account. If a scheduled payment does not arrive, the CRA advises waiting five business days after the expected payment date before contacting the agency.
