Ontario's Jim Wilson farm generated a combined SAR1.45 million, about US$386,000, from the sale of two falcons during the seventh night of the 2026 International Falcon Breeders Auction in Malham, north of Riyadh.
The first bird, a juvenile pure gyrfalcon, opened at SAR40,000 before selling for SAR150,000, approximately US$40,000.
The farm's second bird, a juvenile three-quarter gyr super white falcon with 75 per cent purity, sparked intense bidding. The auction opened at SAR200,000, about US$53,000, before the bird sold for SAR1.3 million, approximately US$346,000, making it the most expensive falcon sold at the 2026 auction so far and the second-highest sale in the event's history.
The auction record remains SAR1.75 million, around US$467,000, paid for a falcon with similar characteristics in 2021. The International Falcon Breeders Auction is being held at the National Center for Falcons in Malham, about 65 kilometres north of Riyadh, and continues through August 25.
