England Edge Norway After Extra Time as Argentina Lead Switzerland

England secured a place in the 2026 FIFA World Cup semifinals after defeating Norway 2–1 following extra time on Saturday, July 11.
The quarterfinal remained tightly contested through regulation before England found the decisive goal in extra time, ending Norway’s run and sending the Three Lions into the final four.
England will face the winner of the last quarterfinal between Argentina and Switzerland in the semifinal scheduled for Wednesday, July 15.
At the time of publication, Argentina were leading Switzerland 1–0 in Kansas City. The score remained provisional, with the match still in progress and the final semifinal place yet to be decided.
France and Spain have already qualified for the other semifinal after eliminating Morocco and Belgium, respectively.
