FIFA Hands Zamalek Two-Window Registration Ban Over €200,000 Bezerra Payment

FIFA imposed a new registration ban on Zamalek on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, preventing the Egyptian club from registering new players for two transfer windows over an unpaid €200,000 amount owed to Ukrainian club FC Oleksandriya as part of Brazilian Juan Bezerra's transfer.

The decision relates to a new instalment from the transfer agreement that was not paid on time. A Zamalek source said the case concerns the club's financial obligations to Oleksandriya and is separate from the current dispute between Zamalek and Bezerra himself.

Club sources say the ban connected to this case can be lifted once the €200,000 payment is settled. FIFA rules state that a club under a registration ban cannot register new players nationally or internationally until the sanction has been served or FIFA lifts it after the required obligations are fulfilled.

The latest case comes after FIFA removed two earlier Oleksandriya-related cases from Zamalek's record on August 3 following their settlement. Egyptian reports say the new decision brings the number of registration-ban cases currently recorded against Zamalek to four, putting the club's outstanding international financial obligations back under scrutiny.
