Health Canada warns of unauthorized nicotine pouches, mislabeled vape product and baby pacifier clip hazard

Health Canada has recalled nicotine pouches sold under the ZYN and Siberia brands because they were sold in Canada without market authorization, as part of a new set of safety alerts that also includes a cannabis vape product with a much higher THC level than stated on the label and a wooden baby pacifier clip previously available on Amazon.ca because of a choking hazard. The alerts appeared on Canada’s official recalls and safety notices page on June 10, 2026.

The nicotine pouch recall includes Siberia Nicotine Pouches at 35 mg in several varieties, including super slim, white dry, power white and white slim, as well as ZYN Nicotine Pouches at 6 mg in flavours such as Cool Mint, Wintergreen, Spearmint, Menthol, Chill and Peppermint. Health Canada said the products were sold without Canadian market authorization or a DIN, and advised consumers to check whether they have affected products and consult a health care professional if they have health concerns.

In a separate alert, CannaPiece Corp. recalled Wild West 96+ Strawberry Stampede Liquid Diamonds 510 Vape Cannabis Extract because of incorrect cannabinoid values on the product label. The label lists Total THC at 500 mg/g, while the actual value is 981 mg/g, meaning the product contains far more THC than consumers would expect from the package information. Health Canada warned that inaccurate THC labelling may lead to overconsumption and temporary adverse effects, including confusion, anxiety, panic, physical or mental impairment, low blood pressure or increased heart rate.

According to the official notice, the affected vape product has lot number 1006543, a size of 0.95 g, and a packaging date of May 7, 2026. A total of 2,304 units were sold through authorized retailers in Ontario between May 27 and June 8, 2026. As of the notice date, the company had not received any complaints or adverse reaction reports related to the recalled product.

The third warning involves the COHEALI Wooden Pacifier Clip for baby, a product previously sold on Amazon.ca. Health Canada said the screw connecting the wooden piece to the metal clip may become loose, creating a choking hazard for children under three years of age. Consumers are advised to stop using the product immediately and dispose of it safely so it cannot be used again.

Health Canada said Amazon.ca reported that 762 units of the pacifier clip were sold in Canada, and that the department has received one incident report linked to the product. The item has been removed from sale on Amazon.ca, but Health Canada noted that the foreign seller did not respond to requests for a voluntary recall, prompting the department to warn consumers directly.

The alerts serve as a reminder for families and consumers to check products already inside their homes, especially items bought online or products linked to children, nicotine or cannabis. If a product matches one of the warnings, Health Canada advises consumers to stop using it, verify the brand and lot information where applicable, and report any incident or health effect through the government’s official reporting channels.

The message is simple: a product being available for sale does not always mean it is authorized, accurately labelled or safe. A quick check of household products can help prevent a health risk or an avoidable accident.
