Justin Bieber has been added to the lineup for the FIFA World Cup 2026 Final Halftime Show, joining Madonna, Shakira and BTS as co-headliners for the historic performance scheduled for Sunday, July 19, at New York New Jersey Stadium. FIFA described the event as the first-ever halftime show at a World Cup final, bringing together football, music and social impact on one of the world’s biggest stages.

The announcement gives the final an even wider global appeal, especially as Bieber’s presence is expected to attract audiences beyond traditional football fans. According to Reuters, the Canadian pop star will be part of an 11-minute musical performance in East Rutherford, New Jersey, alongside the previously announced lineup of Madonna, Shakira and BTS.

FIFA also confirmed that Burna Boy, Gustavo Dudamel and the PS22 Chorus featuring Coldplay are set to perform, while the show will be curated by Chris Martin of Coldplay. The performance is linked to the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, an initiative aiming to raise 100 million U.S. dollars to expand access to quality education and football opportunities for children around the world.

For FIFA, the move marks a major shift in how the World Cup final is being presented. Instead of treating the match as a purely sporting event, the 2026 edition is being shaped as a wider global entertainment moment, closer in scale and attention to major televised spectacles such as the Super Bowl halftime show, but with football at its centre.

The final itself is set for July 19, 2026, with kickoff scheduled for 3 p.m. Eastern Time. With Bieber now joining a lineup that already includes some of the world’s biggest music names, the night is expected to become one of the most watched sport-and-entertainment events of the year.
