A Pakistani resident was killed and 11 people were injured after King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh was struck on Sunday, October 11, 2026, marking the second deadly attack on the airport in less than 24 hours.

Saudi aviation authorities said the injured were taken to hospital while specialist teams began assessing damage to airport facilities and carrying out safety inspections.

The latest attack hit Terminal 4 and caused a fire inside the airport. Saudi authorities also reported intercepting a cruise missile near Riyadh, but the official casualty statement did not publicly identify who was responsible for Sunday's strike.

The incident came less than a day after a separate attack on the same airport on Saturday that caused a far higher death toll and hundreds of injuries. Saudi aviation authorities initially reported 12 deaths and 309 injuries from that strike, with later reports indicating that the number of fatalities had risen.

Security concerns also spread beyond Riyadh on Sunday after King Fahd International Airport in Dammam was targeted, prompting damage assessments and additional safety checks.

The Houthis had claimed responsibility for Saturday's strike on Riyadh airport and warned airlines and travellers against using Saudi airports. However, Saudi authorities did not attribute Sunday's attack, which caused the latest death and injuries, to any specific group in the official statement announcing the casualties.
