In this text, Saber El-Ganzouri carries the reader into a space beyond time and place, where philosophical reflection merges with poetic imagination in a dense spiritual journey. Sky, light, fire, water, and ash stand side by side, and the existential question becomes a lived, sensory experience. "There Is No Time There" is a lyrical piece of wonder, opening a door onto a world that resists the familiar and places the reader before meaning as it forms and dissolves at once.

There Is No Time There

I saw myself there, in the tenth heaven...
Wait.
Let no one ask: Is there a tenth heaven?

I do not know, for the limits of my knowledge stopped at the lote tree and the seventh sky.

My journey was not on a Buraq, nor upon a flying carpet.
Upward rose my soul, my self, and my body.

Light and fire and water and ash, all dissolved into all, and the struggle began.

I rose to the nowhere, into the no-time, where there is neither weight nor density.

I stood singing and sketching a cloud...
The image became the origin, and the origin became an image.
I was perfumed by rain, and shaded by a cloud.

Birds were dancing, dinosaurs too, Satan stepping aside,
and human beings weeping and laughing.
Perhaps you think this is the afterlife?
Paradise and hell, reckoning, reward, and punishment?

None of that.

I myself did not know.
I was in the place that had never crossed the heart of the first human,
nor the mind of the last artificial human.

When you go there, you will know the truth you have been searching for, and you will ask yourselves all the questions you were never able to answer.
There, you will know the answer and the reality of things without asking, because you will not be able to ask, or argue, or quarrel, or move on; for there is no time there, no boredom, and no sorrow.

My words could not come out, a muffled scream inside me.
A light flashed forth and revealed itself, covering all existence.
Something had happened, from the light came fire.
The fire rose to the sky, took shape, and turned into particles that fell

like brittle black ash, while perfumed water poured down... I felt thirsty.
I took a sip of the fragrance of eternity.
I was quenched. I saw my soul... Where was my self? I could not find my body.
I saw it in another galaxy.
